Something for the weekend: The Style Life List

It’s weird, when you have all the time in the world to just stop, (because apart from the park, where has there been to go?) we seem to stack on the pressure to do things. Learn to bake banana bread, become an interior design master and our own PT’s, learn a language or become a coding whizz, lockdown has been far from the relaxing, couch sitting we promised ourselves we’d do if we ever ‘had the time’. And as lockdown looks like it might soon (hopefully) come to end, time for R&R might feel like it’s slowly slipping away. So we set you a challenge this weekend, to carve out a little bit of you time and just be.

For this week’s something for the weekend, we’ve rounded up seven things that we hope will help you relax. From the cosiest of pjs to relaxing face masks and gorgeous scents, we proclaim this weekend, time for ourselves. While we want you to eat the banana bread, maybe just this weekend you can Deliveroo it instead?

  1. Get Comfy

You can’t relax until you’re truly comfortable. Sales of loungewear have soared so you may already own a stack of joggers, but if you’re still looking to invest, try these cosy cashmere pieces from Madeleine Thompson. Super stylish and amazingly snuggle these pieces will work individually or as a set and can definitely be worn out of the house at a later date. But for now, sit back and relax.

2. The Scent

Go big or go home right? Set the mood for your chilled out weekend with the candle of your choice. The scent should help to transport you to somewhere altogether more peaceful. We’ve opted for the Seychelles candle from The White Company, because a girl can dream right?

3. Spa Time

For some reason despite having more time to create routine, routine has gone out the window. If like us you’ve been neglecting everything from skin to hair, this is a great moment for a serious pamper session. From hair masks to face cleanses, load up on your favourite products and really nourish yourself this weekend. We love Elemis sets like this Superfood one for nourishing skin.

4. The Snuggle is Real

Keep extra cosy with a pair of sheepskin sliders. This style has become really popular on the high street and we love this classic beige pair. Perfect for pottering round the house.

5. All The Treats

Hotel Chocolat’s hot chocolate maker, ‘The Velvetiser’ is an in-home hot chocolate machine engineered by Dualit. Available in three colours, there are 16 flavours (and counting) of hot chocolate that can be made with the machine, a must for chocoholics and the ultimate indulgence. Staying in never tasted so good!

6. Nails, Sorted!

Le Mini Macaron has been our nail saver during the most recent lockdown. An at home gel nail kit, this sugary sweet idea is a simple plug in and go nail kit, great for travelling later on down the line. The brand has a series of its own nail colours that work in conjunction with its tiny macaron shaped gel LED lamp that plugs in via a USB lead. It’s so simple and we love it.

7. Screen Free

We all love a little Netflix but why not try having a screen free day (or dare we say it, a whole weekend?) Opt for offline activities from colouring to writing or currently popular hobby, puzzles. A puzzle is a great way to switch your brain off, avoid square eyes and really challenge your brain in a new way. There are lots of gorgeous choices around right now, we just have a soft spot for this Liberty one.
