Who we are…

Hello, we are The Style Life!

Two friends and former colleagues who met while working together on the busy fashion desk of a national newspaper, both of us wanted to launch a platform but neither us wanted to do it alone. One night over WhatsApp, an idea was born for a destination for thirty-plus women from all walks of life, united by their love of living stylishly.

We aim to give readers interesting and informative features covering topics from fashion and beauty to interiors, lifestyle and culture, drawing on our expert contacts in a variety of industries. We want to connect with our reader not only via lust-worthy shopping features that cover a range of price points but also searingly honest reviews in Is It Worth It? and long form opinion editorials in our section, Is It Just Me?

Don’t forget to follow us on our Instagram, @thestylelife_uk

We’d love to hear from you, so please get in touch and drop us a message at hello@thestylelife.co.uk

Mixologist Kathryn Nicholson of Kat’s Cocktail Bar

London, 2021

As founder and head mixologist of Kat’s Cocktail Bar, Kathryn brings a scientific yet artistic flair to the crafted cocktail. A theatre design and marketing graduate, as well as life-long lover of gastronomy, Kathryn became accidentally immersed in bartending during March 2020 when what began as an at home bar shelf quickly became a passion and obsession.

After years of travelling the country and world to discover new cuisine, wine, and cocktails, Kathryn already had an understanding and interest in the industry – attending masterclasses in both wine and cocktails had given her a base knowledge to build on, as well as a feel for what just tastes right. As an artist she has a flair for the visuals of mixology and loves to experiment with colour, glassware, garnish and nature when creating.

After trying all the classics, inventing her own cocktails, reading up on history, making her own spirits and liquors, taking cocktail making classes and soaking up all the information she could from books Kathryn then enrolled in the Diageo Bar Academy while launching Kat’s Cocktail Bar. She has run numerous mixology classes both virtually and in person and loves nothing more than sharing her knowledge, home hacks, seeing people have fun and get excited, and most of all the expression on someone’s face when they first make a cocktail for themselves – cheers!
