While Thursday and today were meant to be rainy af, the weather is supposed to get back on track with sunnier days ahead. Although for now the scorchers are set to be on down low for a while, sadly. The Style Life are sun worshippers (despite some minor hay fever setbacks), we love nothing more than getting out and enjoying the rays. So today’s Something for the Weekend, is dedicated to glorious sunny days and enjoying summer.
Keep Cool and Stay Hydrated!
These popped up during a customary Zara scroll and we are totally obsessed. They’re one of those Zara products that are listed as ‘coming soon’ so you’ll need to pop your email in the ‘Notify me’ box on the product’s page. Essentially the most stylish cool box, it has a really 1950s, vintage vibe to it and will make even lazy days in the garden feel utterly stylish. In fact, if you’re still on the hunt for garden bits and bobs for this year, Zara have slid a few sneaky pieces in that you should check out as we know garden furniture is selling fast!

Throw Some Shade
When the sun is out it is of course really important to not just stay hydrated but to protect yourself. Of course, if you’re out and about make sure to wear suncream, but if you’re in your garden, suncream + a parasol is the absolute dream. If you’ve been using the old laptop inside a cardboard box trip for doing your WFH days outside, investing in a parasol will negate all of that and help keep you cooler too. While you can get simple and sensible parasols, we are particularly fond of these uber stylish ones from East London Parasols. In a host of magical prints and beautiful trims, these will create a statement in your garden.
Depending on the size of your garden, you might want to create different areas or zones. While the kids might want to kick a ball about, you’ll want to carve yourself out a bit of peace and tranquility, or a spot for entertaining. Using an outdoor rug is a great way to demarcate an area and start creating a little oasis all of your own.
While travel abroad this summer should be filed under ‘it’s complicated’, we’re still planning on taking our tastebuds on a journey. This new cookbook by Ben Tish, focusing on Sicily is getting our mouths watering. We might not be getting on a plane but we’re not going to let that stop us dreaming.
Committed to style
We love this new collection from launch from Mango. Part of their Committed Collection, there are now several looks that coordinate with Girls, age 5-14 main range. And while the pieces aren’t ‘matchy-matchy’, they share prints, so you can pair up without twinning.
With mask wearing still a thing, we’re concentrating on eyes to get our makeup kicks. This new Valentino Beauty launch comes in the brand’s infamous bold red hue and lands just in time for summer fun and lockdown easing. The 13 piece collection is available exclusively at Selfridges.
Nb: Valentino Beauty is available online for delivery (excluding USA and Greater China), Selfridges Corner Shop space at Selfridges London and across all stores from mid-June.
The Original Tik Tok
Although metallic timepieces are perfect for special occasions, when it comes to the summer we’re really feeling bold brights. This almost ombre pink watch from Swatch is packed full of Swiss watchmaking knowhow and encased in a pop of colour that will brighten up any moment, even if you realise you’re terribly late.
Enjoy your weekend!
