7 summer dresses to kick start the season

The weather looks like it might be improving (finally) and we don’t know if it’s just us, but just the mere glimpse of the sun gets us kind of giddy.

With brighter days on their way, both metaphorically and physically, we’re looking forward to having literally ANY excuse to get dressed up again. While last summer was spent in post lockdown haze, we’re feeling hopeful that the darkest days are behind us at last. And what better way to celebrate the prospect of a brilliant summer than with a little wardrobe refresh.

We’ve rounded up seven of our favourite summer dresses to get you in the mood for warmer days. From picnic perfect dresses to occasion wear ideas and beach ready beauties, these are the seven summer dresses on our new season wish list.

The Top Knot

Tie shoulder details are still a key silhouette for this season. With the last year or so a bit of a fashion washout, we’re pleased to see some past season favourites making a reappearance. If you’ve already bought into the trend last year, you can rest assured that your shoulder knots are still very much on the money. We love this easy tiered silhouette and this white summer dress is great for those super balmy days and certainly one to pack for your next vacation.

Ditsy Dreams

Micro floral prints unsurprisingly remain big news this season. While we’re all excited to get dressed up again, we’re all still craving comfort and wearability. This floaty mini offers bags of style and comfort, winning.

To The Max

With warmer days on the horizon, the maxi dress is back on our radar. While prairie dress shapes are still key to the season, colours and prints are bolder and draw influencer from more topical climes, reflective of all of our desires to see a return of safe, international travel.

Square Necks

One of the pricier items in this round up, this pretty square-necked dress with voluminous sleeves and stylish palm print is so super versatile. Dress it down with white trainers for everyday or up with some heels or strappy sandals for any of your upcoming summer occasions.

While we’re grateful to be allowed back indoors, that hasn’t dampened are penchant for picnic check dresses. This is a pretty safe bet of a trend every summer, so you can comfortably invest in the look knowing you’ll be able to wear these cute day dresses over and over again.
