I’m not gonna lie, when it comes to wedding favours, my personal jury is still out on this. I think they’re a lovely idea, but I didn’t grow up with them and as we plan our wedding, budgeted to the last penny, they feel a little extravagant when I’d rather enhance the day in other ways.
But, I do also love a strong table display and love the idea of a ‘souvenir’ as it were for the big day so my fiancé and I have been on the hunt for cost effective and clever wedding favours that will add to our occasion, without pushing us massively over budget (let’s be honest, the budget has been burnt to the ground).
So here I’ve rounded up nine of my favourite wedding favours, from the brilliantly budget friendly to the bouji blow out buys. I hope the below list sparks some inspiration.
Of course, your favours should feel personal to you and your day and if you’re crafty, you may very well want to craft and create your own favours. Whether it’s filling mini bottles with a custom cocktail or your favourite tipple, or a sachet of coffee beans brought back from your favourite holiday destination, you don’t need to break the bank to leave a lasting memory for your guests. Consider the theme of your day as well thought out favours can really help pull the style together. Opted for a micro wedding? Then you might have left some extra budget for more detailed wedding favours. But remember, people aren’t there for a trinket, they’re there to watch you get married, so whatever you do, do you.
Customise the label and then add your favourite tipple once your bottles arrive. A sure way to get the party started.
Give your guests something they can take home at the end of the evening to remember your special day. If you’re going for a bit of themed wedding, then these cactus candles come in bundles of 12 and will enhance your place settings and certainly put a smile on guests faces too.
Having been starved of weddings for over a year essentially, we are ready to party, so help ensure your guests maximum comfort this summer with some flip-flops as a sensible but much appreciated wedding favour, perfect for those planning a late night!
The last thing you want to do is give a high maintenance gift. While succulents look adorable, we’re pretty sure they’re so popular because they’re the easiest things to look after… ever! These personalised favours in little plant pots are so cute! On the slightly pricier side, these are great if you’ve budgeted healthily for favours, or if you’ve adopted a micro wedding.
You can’t ever really go wrong with chocolate can you?
Keep it sugary sweet and suitably old school with this Swizzles Love Hearts place name pack. A great way of combining place settings with favours to combine two costs in one. And at under £1 each they’re a total bargain.
Give your guests something they can grow and remember your nuptials by with these personalised seed packets. An excellent choice for eco friendly wedding parties.
Getting married in the height of summer? These nifty hand fans are great for customising, favours and keeping your guests cool too, so smart!
This is definitely a bit more of a blow the budget option, or again, if you’re opting for a micro wedding and want to splash out on the details.
I’ve been obsessed with this store since I visited York a few years ago. With an amazing array of liquors, gins, vinegars and oils you can buy smaller, customisable bottles – they do stack in case you want to treat yourself too, but these customisable bottles will certainly brighten the tables and be a delicious treat for your friends and family to take home too.
