Seven spring tops to spruce up your wardrobe

The sun is beginning to make a more regular appearance (thankfully) and this can only mean that Spring is on its way!

We can’t wait to fully swap our wardrobes over and banish heavy coats and thick winter knits for new season styles and plenty of bright, fun and floral inspired prints.

With the new season on its way just in time for the end of lockdown, there has never been a better moment to give your wardrobe a bit of a refresh. As we spent most of this time last year in a stage of lockdown and without much of a social life, you might find Spring 2020 items unworn or perhaps you never really invested and instead are faced with your 2019 purchases jostling to make a new appearance? Whatever your current wardrobe is looking like, a quick top update is an easy way to inject some new season styles into your repertoire without breaking the bank.

We’ve rounded up some of our favourite new silhouettes that will refresh your look in a jiffy. Just need to brave some of those long forgotten jeans now right?

‘Dreamer’ t-shirt By Megan Claire £19 at Joules

Aren’t we all these days? With very little do and certainly no where to go we’ve started dreaming of a post lockdown world and the joy we’re going to spread and hopefully receive. Slogan t-shirts have remained a key trend and this cute and classic no. is certainly not a look that will date in a hurry. The t-shirt is by Megan Claire and is sold on the Joules platform as part of their ‘Friends of Joules’ initiative that gives selling space to some fantastic independents so you get lots more choice and are buying into smaller businesses too!

Fine Knit silk blend top, £39.99, H&M

Not quite ready to slide out of knitwear? Then this is your first step towards the summer season. A fine knit silk blend you will be able to embrace warmer days with ease. This polo style shape has been really strong over the past couple of spring / summer seasons and this more androgynous aesthetic is still popular with shoppers. This top will work just as well with smarter separates as it will with casual pieces and can be layered over a long sleeve top for particularly cold days.

Yellow floral square neck top, £69, Mint Velvet

Nothing says warm weather like back detailing – because you’re going to want to leave your jacket at home with this one. The sunny yellow hue is particularly pretty but it’s the bow back detailing that really makes this square necked top stand out from the crowd. A great one to pack for summer holidays too.

Blue floral lace trim blouse, £35, River Island

Prairie vibes return this season, so keep your eyes peeled for some seriously gorgeous boho inspired blouses. The lace work on this one is super pretty and the puff sleeve details keep this piece very much on trend.

Floral top, £19.99, New Look

It’s spring, so florals were always going to be on the agenda. This multi pink tonal blouse with front ruffle detailing is easy to dress up or down and would look rather fab with a pinafore dress too.

Paisley Cotton blouse, £29.99, Zara

Lockdown may have made some shoppers hesitant to invest, but Zara keep delivering trend worthy styles at great high street prices. They have a gorgeous selection of blouses and shirts for the new season with lashings of colour and great prints to really revamp your wardrobe. We’ve opted for this paisley number as it’s super versatile and evokes a feeling of travelling further afield than our living rooms once more.
