With civil ceremonies now officially legal outdoors (some restrictions still apply) and outdoor ceremonies in general enjoying a boost due to Covid mask wearing rule relaxation outside, there has never been a greater need for brides to think about wedding day sunglasses.
With Rivkie tying the knot in a matter of weeks (on a field no less) this particular bridal accessory remains high on her hit list. From bridal sparkle to classic pearls and heart silhouettes, Rivkie rounds up her favourite sunglasses that will make a stylish impact for the big day.
Hearts in your eyes
I’m totally obsessed with the LouLou Saint Laurent sunnies. I liked them in black, think they’re very fun bridal wear in white, but if you’re wearing an ivory dress, why not look at the clear yellow version. For some reason I think they’re more expensive looking in this hue. Perfect for those who are wanting to throw a little quirkiness to their wedding day look and also it’s a day of love, so hearts are always appropriate.

Pearly Queen
They might be black-rimmed glasses but these beautiful pearl detail Chanel are what wedding sunglass dreams are made of. Unfortunately I don’t have pearls incorporated into my gown, otherwise you can guarantee I’d have splurged on these bad boys. These are really great if you’re utilising pearls in your hairstyle or jewellery too as they will echo the theme. (rose gold frame also available).

The Seventies Vibe
Go big or go home. I love a pair of statement sunglasses and definitely plan to go big for the big day. These Seventies-inspired Gucci frames will be perfect for brides that have opted for a very chic gown of the same era. If you’ve skipped the lace and embraced bias cut silk, high necks and leg o’ mutton sleeves then these could be the shades for you.

Bling Tribe
Where are the sparkly girls at? I know you’re there. I’m teasing my fiancé mercilessly about the level of glitter involved in my outfit (or am I serious?!). I’ve got a reputation as a bit of a magpie, so a sprinkling of rhinestones on my eyewear won’t shock a soul.

High Street Hero
Of course you don’t have to spend a fortune on wedding sunglasses, especially if you’re the type of gal that’s likely to abandon them as night time falls. The high street is gearing up for summer and there are plenty of great pocket-friendly options too like these white edged glasses from River Island.

Fellow high street heroes:
Here comes the bride!
These sunglasses are such a cute touch. The tiny ‘bride’ detailing in the corner is so sweet and when weddings over the last 18months have been a minefield, these sunglasses feel like a proper celebration. A lovely keepsake that won’t break the bank, thanks Matalan! But be quick, they’re selling fast! You can also get coordinating Team Bride ones too.
